Forestry Fire Hose
Fighting fire in outdoor environments calls for forestry fire hose that is manufactured to be durable, while engineered flexible and lightweight. This fabric-covered hose is designed for use in extinguishing flames primarily in grass, brush, trees and environments where a lightweight hose is needed in order to maneuver over steep or irregular terrain that is often abrasive.
Forest fire gear is engineered for robust and versatile service and protection in rugged terrain and firefighting scenarios. Forestry fire equipment and hose is lightweight and easy to handle.
For the best in protection while fighting fire outdoors, choose Forestry hose and equipment from Rawhide Fire Hose today. Same-day shipping.
Forestry Hose Type – 2 (600 LB Test)
All forestry hose type 2, 600 lb test assemblies, supplied under this specification, shall be constructed with superior quality materials. In addition, NFPA 1961 (National Fire Protection Agency) AND Forestry Specifications 5100-187 shall be observed in production of the assembly, in order to ensure its quality and durability. Hose furnished under these specifications have a potential service life warranty of five years, barring mistreatment and/or use in applications other than that which it is designed for. Upon delivery, the hose shall be free from defects in workmanship and materials.
Jacket Construction: The jackets are woven to be even and be free from defect, including knots, lumps, or cosmetic disfigurations that could compromise the integrity of the hose assembly. The warp yarn consists of ring-spun polyester. Filament or entangled yarn is not used due to the reduction of inherent abrasion resistance. The filler yarns are constructed from high strength, low elongation, and filament polyester, reducing weight while increase flexibility. The jacket construction consists of a 1-2 woven twill pattern, the 2 over-crossing on the exterior of the jacket.
Abrasion Impregnation: Hose assemblies are available with a polymer impregnation, providing additional abrasion resistance. The standard color of this Forestry Hose is yellow and will be pure and even for each hose. Impregnated hose meets USDA 5100-187 requirements for abrasion resistance.
Lining: The lining is a single-ply extruded tube of synthetic polyurethane, engineered to resist ozone. The polyurethane tube adheres to the jacket, preventing delamination. The finished product meets and exceeds potable water specification, Mil-H-24606B, standards for manufacturing lightweight fire hose. Polyurethane lined fire hose is designed to increase packing ability for applications where lightweight fire hose is desired.
Performance: The minimum burst test pressure; according to NFPA 1961, on Type – 2 forestry fire hose is 900 PSI. The service test pressure is stenciled on the hose in accordance with the current requirements of NFPA 1962. A valid USA/ULC Underwriters listing is in force.
Couplings: Expansion ring threaded or quarter-turn quick connect couplings are available and meet USFS (United States Forestry Service) specification 5100-108.The couplings are constructed from high-strength, lightweight aluminum 6061-T6 alloy, then “hard-coated” for corrosion and abrasion resistance.
