The MSHA Single Jacket Fire Hose (600 LB) is approved for use in underground mining operations. United States Department of Labor, Code of Federal Regulations acceptance number 18-FHA080002.

Premium quality, abrasion resistant, heavy-duty fire hose manufactured per NFPA 1961 standards and
meets or exceeds all MSHA specifications. This hose is designed with self-extinguishing characteristics
and is engineered for prolonged storage and extended service. Resists heat, cold and abrasion.
Jacket Construction
A single jacket, woven evenly and free of defects, from spun polyester yarn that offers superior strength
and wear characteristics. The warp yarn is standard 100% polyester. The filler yarns are high strength,
low elongation, filament polyester to reduce weight and increase flexibility. In addition the jacket is
treated to resist mold and mildew.
Lining
The rubber lining is a single ply, extruded tube of synthetic polyurethane based material to resist ozone.
Under this specification, the MSHA approved material is vulcanized to the jacket to prevent delamination
or hydrolysis.
Couplings
Available with internal expansion ring threaded aluminum or brass. (NH/NST and NPSH/IPT standard)
Custom thread patterns available upon request.
Pressure Ratings
U.L. Hydrostatic Testing specifies a service test of 300 PSI, acceptance test of 600 PSI and a burst test
of 900 PSI in accordance with NFPA 1962 and UL-19 procedures.
Special Characteristics
Standard color is white. Other colors are available upon request. Standard lengths are 50’ and 100’.
Custom lengths are available upon request. Hose meets the standards of Underwriters Laboratories,
Inc. tm (UL) including UL-19 (tensile strength & elongation) for rubber-lined hoses. All hoses are
stenciled with all NFPA approved markings and with letters, at least ¼” high stating “ Flame-resistant
USMSHA” followed by the manufacturers license / approval identifier number, permanently marked in a
contrasting color indelible ink.
Service Life
This hose has a potential service life of five (5) years, notwithstanding mistreatment and/or misuse.
Defective hose, couplings and configurations will be replaced at no charge, within one (1) year of
purchase.
